Ammonium surplus in fermentation installation
Probleem
Niet gebruikte stoffen RWZI
Afvalwater bevat veel stoffen die niet, of niet optimaal, worden benut.
Fermentation installations can have problems when the ammonium level in the installation is too high. Ammonium is toxic for anaerobic bacteria. Concentrations of over 3000 milligram per liter can cause problems.
Oplossing
Ammonia Recovery
Ammonia Recovery is a technology that purifies the influent from a fermentation installation. Ammonia and CO2 are removed. This cleaner flow is added to the new influent going into the fermentation installation. This dilutes the influent and reduces the level of ammonia in the installation. From the ammonium reclaimed, biobased ammonium fertilizer is produced.
